Its time to spend some quality time with family...it's also time to get some quiet time for ourselves..... And, for readers like us, there's no better time than the weekend to catch up on some reading!

Welcome to another weekend - and to an amazing new weekend reading list, just for you :)

1)
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Genre: Historical Fiction, Drama

Let's start this week with a classic in the true sense! Set in the early nineteenth century England, this is the story of how love triumphs over social graces. Sparks fly when playful, attractive and witty Elizabeth crosses paths with handsome, intelligent and wealthy Mr. Darcy, who lacks charm and social ease - while Elizabeth is too quick to judge, Mr. Darcy is too proud! And it is this explosive combination, that makes Pride and Prejudice one of the most popular books in history.

2)
Kane and Abel by Jeffrey Archer

Genre: General Fiction

A story of two men who were worlds apart; with nothing in common except their birth date and and an unshakable zeal to succeed in life! Kane and Abel spans sixty years of the lives of two men - one born with a silver spoon and the other born in utter poverty. It's a story of two powerful men, linked by an all-consuming hatred, brought together by fate to save - and eventually destroy - each other! This is one story that will stay with you long after you have turned the last page.

3)
The Day of the Jackal by Frederick Forsyth

Genre: Thriller

This is a fictional story of a professional assassin, contracted by a paramilitary organization to kill a President. Now here's a classic with a twist, if there was one! If you like to read thrillers and assassination plots, this is one page-turner that will keep you asking for more with every page you read! With a smooth and easy narrative, The Day of the Jackal enjoys even today, the same admiration and popularity it enjoyed on its original publication in 1971.

4)
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Genre: Adventure Fiction, Fantasy, Drama

Here's a classic, international bestseller that has set the Guinness World Record for being the most translated book by a living author! Translated into 56 different languages, this is a simple story of a young shepherd, who has a recurring dream of finding treasure in Egypt and sets out on a journey in search of it. He encounters several obstacles in his journey and overcomes them with the sheer will to keep going forward to find his destiny. The book imparts a very powerful message that "when you really want something to happen, the whole universe conspires so that your wish comes true.."

5)
The Mistress of Spices by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

Genre: General Fiction, Speculative Fiction

And finally, we leave you with a poetic and magical story. Tilo runs a spice shop in California - but she doesn't just sell the spices, she is also able to harness their magical powers. This helps her give her troubled customers, what their heart most desires. But when a lonely American arouses in her a forbidden desire, Tilo is in trouble, because to give in to her own desires will not only mean losing her magical powers but also letting the spices destroy her!
