The Fresh weekend reading list!

Here's another weekend! And this one is a fresh-feeling one, with not too much sunshine to hurt your eyes... and with a hint of rain in the breeze and a few dark clouds hovering in the sky just so you decide to rather spend some time indoors...
Now, spending time indoors and doing household chores go hand in hand for some people. But for us here at at FindMyRead, weekends mean rest, relaxation and most importantly, reading :)

So, here we are, once again, with our fresh weekend-reading list for you to indulge in....enjoy!

1)
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell

Genre:Historical Fiction

Let's start our list this week with this Pulitzer Prize winning, sizzling Civil War drama! The story revolves around the feisty Scarlet O'Hara - a plucky, practical woman and her one vulnerability - her delightfully stereotypical love for a man, Rhett Butler, the soldier of fortune! Since its original publication, and despite being made into one of the most successful movies of all times, this book has and continues to lure many a book-lover till date. Well, read the book and find out why!

2)
The Firm by John Grisham

Genre: Legal Thriller, Crime Fiction

This is the second John Grisham book featuring in our lists, the first being The Partner that we featured a few weeks ago. This week's book is the story of an innocent Mitch McDeere, fresh out of law school and his sweet, loving wife Abby. With stars in their eyes, the McDeeres' dreams to make it big in the world are about to be fulfilled when Mitch hires on with a firm that gives him a huge salary and a low interest mortgage house. All that glitters, however, is not gold; and that is exactly what Mitch and Abby find out in this nail-biting, legal thriller. If you thought your life was a mess, wait till you read about Mitch's!

3)
After the Funeral by Agatha Christie

Genre: Crime Fiction, Mystery

If you do nothing else, at least read one Agatha Christie book over the weekend if you want to really experience the magic of mystery books! Set in a family setting, this is one of the best cases featuring Hercule Poirot and his remarkable grey cells. No, we wont reveal more than is necessary about this book, for your own sake...but suffice it to say, that once you read this book, you will surely agree with us when we say that Agatha Christie is not called as the Queen of Crime for nothing!

4)
The Beach Cafe by Lucy Diamond

Genre: Humour, Drama, General Fiction

"A recipe for disaster...or a recipe for love?" says the tagline...Hmm, do you know how it feels to be the black sheep of the family? To be a dreamer, a drifter, and a jack of all trades but a master of none...... much unlike one's overachieving family? Well, if you are looking for a light read this weekend, with a bit of family time and romance thrown in the mix, then this is one story you will definitely love!

5)
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

Genre: Historical Fiction, Romance

Speaking of family and romance, family isn't the only one you are born in....family is also what you grow up in; and it is also what you raise, when the time comes. If you are looking for an extraordinary tale of family, friendship and love, with an adventurous twist; Water for Elephants has to make it to your weekend reading list.

PS: You could read this book a little at a time over the week too...but its such a page-turner, you will be dying to reach the end of the story....but when it actually ends, you will be wishing it hadn't!

So those are our refreshing picks for this week's weekend reading for you. Have you read any of these? Did your favourite book make our list? What would you be reading if spending the day indoors?

We would love to hear from you in the comments section!

Happy reading!!
